Scar treatment

There are many types of scars with different origins, such as:

  • ‘normal’ scars, scars that occur after healing of a wound. Over time, the stripe may become white in color or darker due to stronger pigment formation
Remainder of scars that occurred after acne or chickenpox. These atrophic scars are often sunken into the skin
Hypertrophic scars are often thickened scars with an excess of collagen tissue, red to light pink in color and cause discomfort such as itching, pulling or pain.
Keloid scars often (but not exclusively) occur in young people and darkly pigmented skin
  • Scars can heal nicely without complications, but unfortunately it is also common for scars to thicken and be painful. They feel pulling, making movement limited or even impossible. Scars can also be cosmetically undesirable.

How do scars form?
Scars occur when wound healing is disrupted. Such a disturbance can have various causes, such as an infection, poor condition or poor blood circulation in the wound area. In addition, wounds in some parts of the body are more difficult to heal than in others.
They occur during the healing of surgical wounds, burns, vaccinations, tattoos, piercings or acne.

What can we do for you at Medical Skin Healing?
Treating problems arising from scar tissue, such as hypertrophy (collagen accumulation), redness, pain, itching, discoloration, hardening, adhesion, poor blood circulation, restriction of movement and edema (fluid accumulation).

We specialize in various treatments related to edema and scar care. We will look at the scar together with you and discuss the best treatment that suits your situation.

What specializations can you expect?
Massage treatments with fasia release techniques for scars after oncology, surgery, trauma or burns.
Fascia therapy loosens disturbed connections, scars. This creates more mobility within the affected area. The consequences of scars such as edema, circulation disorders, pain or reduced mobility are addressed.
Micro needling can be used for finer, hardened scars that are cosmetically undesirable. Consider facial scars after acne or facial surgery.
