Laser hair removal

Why remove hair with a laser when you can wax, epilate or shave?

Waxing, plucking and shaving only eliminates hair for a short time. In addition, this method of hair removal causes skin problems such as ingrown hair, rashes or dark spots that remain visible for a long time. Some rashes even lead to a bacterial infection followed by scarring on the skin.
With permanent hair removal with a laser, only the hair follicle is destroyed, the surrounding tissue is not damaged. After the first treatments with the Alexandrite Laser GentleLase Pro, the hair no longer grows, rashes and spots disappear and the skin texture improves and the skin becomes healthy and smooth again.

Is laser hair removal painful?

During the treatment, people often experience a slight tingling sensation and a feeling of warmth with each laser pulse. The GentleLase Pro is the only laser with an integrated, specially designed DCD cooling system. Each laser pulse is immediately followed by a cooling spray, which makes the treatment experience pleasant. In this way, impulses with higher energy can also be carried out painlessly and the best result is achieved. When treating with the GentleLase Pro, no direct cooling or gel is required as is often the case with other lasers.

How many treatments should be performed with the laser?

Treatment is individual. For example, the skin type, the type of hair, the growth cycle of the hair and the skin to be treated will play a role. For example, during the growth phase (the hair is visible) or the resting phase (the hair is invisibly present in the skin), it is important to carry out the treatments with a rest period of 4 to 8 weeks (varies per zone).

The evaluation is that it takes an average of 6-8 treatments to remove all hair permanently.

How long does the laser treatment take?

Again, the treatment is individual again. The duration of treatment will depend on the method of hair removal. An average treatment of the upper lip takes a few minutes, the armpit area 5 minutes, the legs and back 20-30 minutes, the abdominal area 15 minutes for men.

Difference between IPL treatment and the GentleLase Pro laser

Devices that emit intense pulsed light (IPL) emit a beam of light and therefore do not act directly on their target. The hair and the melanin in the hair do not absorb light very well. In addition, the wider beam spectrum of IPL devices presents a greater risk of side effects. In contrast, a laser consists of the light of only one wavelength and consists of one thin, powerful beam. Only the hair (bag) is destroyed, the surrounding tissue is not reached.
Both methods are safe.
