Edematherapy

Edema is caused by a disturbed supply and discharge of lymph fluid and can occur anywhere.
Trauma after an accident, surgery, oncological treatment, varicose veins or disorders to organs such as heart, liver and / or kidneys. Or it is congenital such as lipedema, a condition that often develops during puberty.

Why Edema Therapy?

Edema therapy is a friendly treatment method for the various complaints surrounding the lymphatic system. If there is no proper fluid flow in the body, swellings can develop which will eventually cause pain or wounds that do not close. Complaints that cause movements to become more difficult over time and can even cause an unpleasant pain experience. Due to the swelling, for example, your clothes will become tighter around the body.

Edema therapy

Edema therapy reduces fluid and helps the body’s self-healing ability to remove excess fluid. We use different treatment methods:

  • Manual lymphatic drainage: a gentle, specialized massage that removes moisture and can reduce pain.
  • Fascia therapy: connective tissue treatment for pain and stiffness of scars, for example after radiotherapy.
  • Endermology: Endermology treats the skin and underlying tissue with the LPG Wellbox. This promotes blood flow, stimulates the drainage of lymph fluid and softens hardened (fibrotic) tissue. The formation of elastin fibers and collagen fibers is increased and the skin becomes smoother, firmer, smoother and healthier.
  • Lymph taping: a tape that ensures that the moisture can be removed after the treatment.
  • Measuring compression stockings.

Most recent insights and treatment

Every day the medical world comes up with new treatments, medicines and therapies. Similarly for edema. The Fill and Flush technique was developed by Prof J P Belgrade (University of Brussels) and Jane Wigg (RGN, MSc). With this new research technique it is possible to visualize the superficial lymph vessels and to investigate how lymph fluid flows and what effect lymph drainage has.

Thanks to this method, patients can now be treated even more effectively and with longer results.

Together with eleven fellow therapists I was allowed to call myself one of the first certified Fill and Flush therapists in the Netherlands. My patients experience a clear difference and are very satisfied!

The first intake and consultation is free and without obligation
The intake includes an anamnesis. During this free and no-obligation intake interview, we examine together which treatment method is most suitable and possible for you.
